Under the theme of ‘Reflection’, the historic Steinertor in Krems is transformed into a living gallery of faces. These appear as fleeting images, preserved fragments of individual existence – a visual archive of being. In the interplay of light and surface, the two meanings of ‘reflection’ come together: on the one hand, as the physical reflection of light that makes the faces visible. On the other hand, as a mental reflection – an invitation to contemplate identity, transience and collective memory.

The Steinertor, once a border and a passageway, becomes a mirror of the present, in which visitors themselves become participants in the artwork.
